Environment / 'Vegetation Cover' Offers 12 Sustainable Development Opportunities with Investment Partnerships in Asir Region
Abha, 12 July 2026, SPA – As part of its ongoing efforts to develop vegetation cover and promote sustainable investment across all regions of the Kingdom, the National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification has launched 12 investment opportunities in several national parks in the Asir region. This initiative aims to enhance partnership with the private sector, support nature tourism, and contribute to achieving the goals of sustainable development and the Kingdom's Vision 2030. In a statement issued today, the Center emphasized that these investment opportunities are intended to empower the private sector and expand its participation in implementing development projects with a sustainable environmental and economic impact. The goal is to develop, protect, and sustain vegetation cover sites, improve the efficiency of natural resource investment, achieve a balance between economic development and conservation of natural resources, enhance environmental sustainability and quality of life, create added value for local communities, and support the national economy. The statement noted that the investment opportunities offered in the Asir region include a variety of activities, most notably camping, caravans, and ecotourism, which contribute to the development of national parks and establish their status as attractive natural destinations for visitors from within and outside the Kingdom. It is worth mentioning that the Center is offering long-term investment opportunities alongside seasonal ones to develop vegetation cover, support various afforestation projects and initiatives, conserve natural resources, contribute to the development of the national economy, and create new job opportunities for citizens, in line with the targets of the Saudi Green Initiative and the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
