The Special Forces for Environmental Security arrested a citizen violating the environmental regulations for failing to comply with instructions and guidelines for preserving vegetation cover by lighting a fire in unauthorized areas in the Asir region. Legal procedures were taken against him.

The forces emphasized that the penalty for lighting a fire outside designated areas in forests and national parks is a fine of up to (3,000) riyals, urging the public to report any cases of environmental or wildlife violations by calling (911) in Mecca, Medina, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, and (999) and (996) in the rest of the Kingdom's regions. All reports will be handled with complete confidentiality without any liability on the reporter.
