The seafronts and beaches in Jeddah are witnessing various events including beach cleaning campaigns, environmentally friendly sports activities, awareness programs about wildlife and marine ecosystems, as well as workshops targeting different age groups to highlight the importance of reducing marine pollution and preserving coral reefs and marine life. These initiatives are accompanied by operational and supervisory efforts implemented by the Municipality of Jeddah Governorate through an integrated system for overseeing beaches and marine activities, contributing to raising safety levels and preserving the coastal environment. During the first half of 2026, it conducted more than 1,886 supervisory tours, 8,602 hours of field navigation, issued over 667 navigation permits, and handled 108 rescue cases, as part of its efforts to protect coasts stretching about 530 kilometers from Rabigh in the north to Al Qunfudhah in the south. In a related context, the Border Guard Command in the Tabuk region conducted an environmental campaign to clean Al Duqm Beach and the seabed in the Umluj Governorate, as part of its efforts to enhance environmental awareness and social responsibility. The campaign included removing waste from the beach and surrounding areas, with field participation from Border Guard personnel and volunteers in the governorate, aiming to consolidate concepts of marine environment conservation and promote a culture of volunteering and teamwork.
