The coastal patrols of the Border Guards in Jeddah Governorate, Makkah Region, apprehended a citizen violating the safety and security regulations for marine activity practitioners in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's marine areas, for engaging in fishing without a legal permit and using prohibited tools. Legal procedures were taken against him in coordination with the relevant authorities.

The Border Guards called on all marine activity practitioners to adhere to the regulations and instructions related to the protection of living aquatic resources, and to report any cases that represent an infringement on the environment or wildlife.

The Border Guards explained that reporting violations is done by calling (911) in the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, and (994) in the rest of the Kingdom's regions, stressing that all reports are handled with complete confidentiality without any liability on the reporter.
