Riyadh, Safar 01, 1448 AH corresponding to July 15, 2026, SPA -- Saudia, in cooperation with the Air Connectivity Program and the Saudi Tourism Authority, announced the addition of Tokyo, the capital of Japan, as a new international destination within its growing global network, with 3 weekly flights from King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, starting from November of this year. Bookings are currently available for guests through all digital channels and authorized sales outlets. This cooperation with the Air Connectivity Program contributes to developing connectivity with international markets, creating new routes, and increasing international flights. The launch of direct flights between the Kingdom and Japan enhances tourism and trade movement between the two countries and expands access to the Kingdom. This comes as part of supporting the targets of the Aviation Program, the National Tourism Strategy, and Saudi Vision 2030, which aim to solidify the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's position as a global tourism destination and a logistical hub connecting the world's continents. The cooperation with the Saudi Tourism Authority also embodies integration in efforts to introduce diverse Saudi destinations. The Authority works with travel sector partners and tourism agents in Japan to activate the Japanese market by developing attractive tourism packages and promoting Saudi destinations, thereby attracting more visitors to the Kingdom. This route supports receiving tourists and visitors from Japan and enhances the Kingdom's readiness to welcome them. Tokyo also represents a new bridge of communication between the Kingdom and Japan, contributing to strengthening the growing relations between the two countries and peoples, supporting business, investment, trade, and tourism exchange, in addition to expanding cultural and knowledge cooperation between two civilizations with a rich historical legacy and an ambitious future vision. Saudi Arabia continues to implement its ambitious strategy for growth and international expansion, currently operating flights to more than 100 destinations worldwide, benefiting from a modern fleet of 153 aircraft. It is also proceeding with a qualitative program to add 112 new aircraft, enhancing its operational capabilities and raising the efficiency of air connectivity, supporting its targets of bringing the world to the Kingdom and solidifying its position as one of the most important aviation and tourism centers in the world. // End // 20:24 PM 0176
