The Authority emphasized that conducting archaeological survey and excavation requires obtaining official permits, noting that the monitored case involved bypassing those legal procedures, in addition to possessing a metal piece claimed by its owner to be linked to the archaeological heritage.

The Heritage Authority stressed that protecting national heritage is a shared responsibility between official entities and society, affirming that any attack on or tampering with archaeological sites is a violation that warrants legal accountability.

The Authority explained that it has initiated all legal procedures against the violator, as stipulated by the Antiquities and Urban Heritage Law, ensuring the application of approved regulations to protect archaeological sites and preserve items of heritage value.

The Heritage Authority called on citizens and residents to report any violations related to antiquities and urban heritage via the 'Archaeological Report' service or by calling the National Center for Security Operations at 911.

The Authority affirmed that receiving reports contributes to preserving archaeological sites and artifacts and maintaining the cultural heritage of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
