The Jazan region celebrates the status of horses in its cultural memory on World Horse Day, as horses represent a symbol of authenticity and equestrianism, and a prominent element in the folk heritage passed down through generations, becoming part of the region's cultural identity and evidence of man's connection to his heritage and values.

Dr. Mohammed Qahel, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Jazan Horse Jumping Association, explained that World Horse Day highlights the civilizational and cultural value of horses, and confirms that they have always been and remain a symbol of authenticity, loyalty, and courage, and enjoy a firm place in Saudi culture.

He added that the association continues its efforts to spread the culture of equestrianism through implementing initiatives, training programs, and camps aimed at qualifying riders and honing their skills, in addition to raising awareness of equestrian values and encouraging various segments of society to connect with this authentic heritage.

Community Efforts to Preserve the Heritage

For his part, Dr. Qahel affirmed that the association's programs are not limited to technical training, but extend to instilling values of commitment, discipline, and responsibility, and enhancing self-confidence and the spirit of fair competition among participants, which contributes to preparing a generation that takes pride in its cultural heritage and understands the status of horses in the history of the Kingdom.

He pointed out that preserving this heritage is a shared responsibility that requires integration of efforts among cultural, sports, and community institutions, to ensure the sustainability of equestrian presence and strengthen the connection of new generations with it.

In the same context, horses in Jazan remain a deeply rooted symbol in the community memory and an element reflecting the depth of the local heritage, as specialized initiatives continue to preserve this heritage and enhance its presence in community awareness.
