Islamic Affairs in Eastern Region Conducts Over 85,000 Inspection Tours of Mosques in First Half of 2026
The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, represented by its branch in the Eastern Region, carried out more than 85,955 supervisory and inspection tours of mosques, prayer halls, and facilities affiliated with the ministry across various governorates of the region during the first half of 2026.
The ministry's branch explained that these tours are part of its ongoing efforts to enhance field supervision, improve the quality of services provided in houses of God, and ensure their readiness to receive worshippers.
The branch indicated that the tours covered all governorates of the Eastern Region, with the number reaching 21,267 tours in Al-Ahsa Governorate, 21,135 tours in Hafar Al-Batin Governorate, 12,967 tours in Dammam City, and 11,045 tours in Khobar Governorate.
It added that 4,978 tours were conducted in Khafji Governorate, 4,323 tours in Buqayq Governorate, 4,104 tours in Qaryat al-Ulya Governorate, 3,575 tours in Jubail Governorate, and 2,561 tours in Nu'ayriyah Governorate.
For its part, the branch confirmed that the tours included monitoring the compliance of mosque staff with instructions and regulations, reviewing maintenance, cleanliness, and operational work, ensuring the readiness of facilities, in addition to recording observations and addressing them according to approved procedures, thereby contributing to providing a suitable spiritual environment for worshippers.
