Jeddah Municipality Enhances Municipal Oversight in Conjunction with Summer 2026 Tourism Activity
The Jeddah Municipality is keeping pace with the tourism activity during the summer season of 2026 through a field oversight system aimed at raising the level of compliance in commercial and food establishments, and enhancing the quality of services provided to residents and visitors, thus supporting the city's experience as one of the most prominent tourist destinations in the Kingdom. The municipality conducts continuous oversight tours of food establishments, markets, and shopping centers to verify compliance with municipal and health requirements, in addition to monitoring establishments related to tourism and entertainment activities, contributing to the preservation of product safety and the quality of services provided to its patrons. The oversight work extends to include marine activities and establishments located on coastal fronts, by monitoring compliance with municipal and regulatory requirements, and ensuring the readiness of facilities and services related to receiving visitors, thereby enhancing safety levels and service quality in sites experiencing density during the summer vacation. As part of developing the municipal oversight system, the Jeddah Municipality recently launched the pilot operation of the Municipal Compliance Program, which adopts an operational model focused on raising the efficiency of field visits and enhancing compliance with municipal regulations and requirements, contributing to the development of oversight quality, improving the experience of establishments, and raising the level of services. The oversight tours are integrated with field follow-up work carried out by the relevant departments and sub-municipalities to monitor and address observations, and to enhance the presence of oversight teams in vital sites that are witnessing increased demand during the season. This system contributes to supporting the tourism and economic activity witnessed by Jeddah during the summer by maintaining a safe commercial and health environment, raising the level of compliance, reflecting the quality of municipal services, and enhancing the confidence of residents and visitors in the facilities and establishments they frequent throughout the season.
