The Acting Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Jeddah Charity Association, Mr. Khalaf bin Housan Al-Otaibi, received the President of King Abdulaziz University, Dr. Tarif bin Yousef Al-Aama, accompanied by a number of deans and university leaders, in the presence of Board member Mr. Mohammed Saeed Abu Malhah, CEO Eng. Mohieddin bin Yahya Hakmi, and several association officials.

The visit aims to enhance areas of cooperation and expand partnership horizons between the two sides to serve community development and align with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to develop current and future cooperation in several areas, including healthcare, volunteer work, scientific research, and media, to contribute to utilizing shared capabilities and expertise to achieve sustainable community impact.

At the outset of the meeting, Acting Chairman Mr. Khalaf Al-Otaibi welcomed the visiting delegation, providing an overview of the association’s journey, its programs, various services, and the comprehensive care it offers to beneficiary families, orphans, and kidney patients, in addition to its efforts to enhance financial and institutional sustainability and develop qualitative initiatives with sustainable impact. He emphasized the importance of deepening cooperation with the university to serve the paths of social development work.

For his part, Board member Mr. Mohammed Abu Malhah stressed the importance of building on existing cooperation between the two sides and expanding partnership horizons, particularly in the areas of volunteer work, and benefiting from academic expertise and youth energies in implementing qualitative community initiatives.

After that, CEO Eng. Mohieddin Hakmi gave a visual presentation showcasing the association’s most prominent programs and initiatives, highlighting the developmental leaps the association has witnessed in recent years and the achievements reflecting its vision of creating sustainable community impact, through applying best institutional practices, enhancing sustainability, accelerating digital transformation, and building development partnerships in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

For his part, His Excellency the President of King Abdulaziz University, Dr. Tarif Al-Aama, praised the qualitative leap in the Jeddah Charity Association’s work, especially in achieving institutional sustainability and enhancing digital transformation, affirming that the association has become a distinguished model in developing social work according to modern institutional foundations.

He explained that there are many areas of cooperation that the university and the association can work on and develop, especially in health, volunteer, research, and media aspects, to achieve common goals in enhancing social development work. He affirmed King Abdulaziz University’s commitment to fulfilling its community mission and building effective partnerships with non-profit sector institutions, based on its national role in serving society and contributing to sustainable development.

The visiting delegation began its visit with a tour of the association’s Abdul Karim Bakr Medical Center for Dialysis, during which they reviewed the health and therapeutic services provided to dialysis patients, in addition to awareness and educational programs, and social and psychological care services offered by the center, which contribute to improving patients’ quality of life and enhancing their lifestyles.

The university president praised the advanced medical services the center provides to patients, through which it contributes to enhancing public health, which is one of the association’s strategic goals.

This visit comes as an extension of the keenness of King Abdulaziz University and the Jeddah Charity Association to consolidate strategic partnerships between academic institutions and the non-profit sector, exchange expertise, and launch qualitative initiatives that contribute to maximizing community impact and support the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 in building a vibrant society and sustainable development.
