4 International Awards in the International Chemistry Olympiad
The Kingdom's students won a silver medal, two bronze medals, and an honorable mention in the International Biology Olympiad in Lithuania, while the Saudi chemistry team received 4 international awards at the International Chemistry Olympiad, held in the Uzbek capital Tashkent from July 10 to 19, with the participation of 363 students representing 92 countries.
Student Ali Ahmed Bawazir from the General Administration of Education in Riyadh Region and student Ali Salem Al-Yami from the General Administration of Education in Najran Region won two silver medals, while student Abdulaziz Badr Al-Ju'aid from the General Administration of Education in Medina Region and student Mujtaba Abdul Ilah Al-Tarouti from the General Administration of Education in the Eastern Region won two bronze medals.
This achievement raised the Kingdom's tally in the International Chemistry Olympiad to 53 international awards, including 17 silver medals, 34 bronze medals, and two honorable mentions.
This achievement came after an intensive preparation and qualification program that the students underwent over the course of a year, implemented by the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba), in partnership with the Ministry of Education, as part of the Mawhiba International Olympiad Program, through theoretical and practical training forums and camps inside and outside the Kingdom, supervised by national and international experts and trainers.
This achievement reflects the advanced scientific level attained by Saudi students and their ability to compete in one of the most prominent global scientific forums in the field of chemistry, with their theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and ability to analyze and solve problems according to advanced international standards.
It is worth noting that the International Chemistry Olympiad is one of the most prominent global scientific competitions in the field of chemistry, annually bringing together an elite group of talented students from various countries around the world, aiming to enhance scientific cooperation and exchange of expertise, and highlight the role of chemistry in developing innovative solutions in the fields of health, energy, environment, and industry.
