National Program to Combat Commercial Concealment Conducts Over 4,500 Inspection Tours in June
The National Program to Combat Commercial Concealment carried out (4,501) inspection tours to combat concealment across various regions of the Kingdom during June 2026, based on indicators and suspicion of concealment. The tours aimed to verify compliance of commercial establishments, and detect crimes and violations of the Anti-Concealment Law, and covered activities, most notably: land transport of goods, general construction of non-residential buildings (such as schools, hospitals, hotels, etc.), retail sale of household electronic and electrical appliances, retail sale of precious metals and gemstones, and general warehouses containing a variety of goods.
During the tours, (104) preliminary suspicion cases of concealment were recorded, and violators were referred to the competent authorities for verification and application of deterrent penalties against them. Penalties under the Anti-Concealment Law include imprisonment for up to five years, a fine of up to five million riyals, seizure and confiscation of illicit funds after final judicial rulings against those involved, in addition to the statutory ancillary penalties: closure of the establishment, liquidation of activity, cancellation of the commercial register, prohibition from practicing commercial activity, collection of zakat, fees and taxes, public disclosure, and deportation of the concealers from the Kingdom and denial of their return for work.
