The appointed Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Republic of Sudan, Dr. Zaid bin Makhlid Al-Harbi, arrived in Port Sudan to officially assume his duties, succeeding Ambassador Ali bin Hassan Jaafar.

Al-Harbi received an official welcome at Port Sudan International Airport, led by the representative of the Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Onour Ahmed Anwar, the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco, Mohamed Ma Elainain, the Kuwaiti Ambassador Fahad Mishari Al-Dhafiri, the Qatari Ambassador Mohammed bin Ibrahim, along with the Secretary-General of the Red Sea State Government, Fathallah Al-Hajj, and several members of the diplomatic corps.

Observers noted that Ambassador Al-Harbi's arrival comes at an important stage in bilateral relations between Saudi Arabia and Sudan, where he is expected to contribute to enhancing joint cooperation between the two countries in various fields.

In the same context, the step of appointing the new ambassador is expected to advance cooperation prospects in a way that serves common interests and strengthens fraternal bonds between the two brotherly peoples.
