Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman on Monday extended an invitation to Lebanese President Joseph Aoun to visit the Kingdom, and affirmed Riyadh's support for his choices.

This came during a phone call in which the two sides discussed "the latest developments on the Lebanese and regional scenes," according to a statement from the Lebanese presidency.

The statement said that the Saudi Crown Prince stressed during the call his country's standing by Lebanon in the current phase.

He affirmed Saudi Arabia's support for Lebanon in this circumstance, and its support for "the choices adopted by President Aoun for his country's sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity."

He reiterated Saudi Arabia's determination to help in all areas that Lebanon needs, within the priorities set by the Lebanese government.

The Saudi Crown Prince invited Aoun to visit the Kingdom to discuss all matters of interest to the two countries, for which the Lebanese president thanked him and promised to accept the invitation, according to the same statement.

The call comes as Aoun continues an official visit to Washington that began on Saturday and lasts four days, during which he will meet with US President Donald Trump on Tuesday at the White House, in addition to a series of meetings with members of the Senate (the second chamber of Congress) and officials in the US administration, according to a previous presidency statement.

The visit comes amid the ongoing Israeli aggression on Lebanon, despite the "framework formula" signed by Beirut and Tel Aviv under US sponsorship on June 26, 2026, which stipulates a gradual Israeli withdrawal from all occupied Lebanese territories, starting with the implementation of a model in two unspecified pilot areas.

Since March 2, 2026, Israel has continued its aggression on Lebanon, resulting in the killing of 4,328 people and the injury of 12,227 others, in addition to the displacement of more than one million people, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health.

Israel occupies areas in southern Lebanon, some for decades, and others since the previous war between October 2023 and November 2024.
