Over 43,000 m3 of rubble removed and 21,000 tons of waste treated in Buqayq
The Eastern Region Municipality, represented by the Buqayq Governorate Municipality, continued to carry out cleaning and environmental sanitation works during the first half of this year, as part of its programs aimed at improving the urban landscape, enhancing environmental sustainability, and upgrading the quality of municipal services, contributing to raising the quality of life and achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
The Director General of the General Administration of Media and official spokesman of the Eastern Region Municipality, Faisal Al-Zahrani, explained that the field work carried out by the Buqayq Governorate Municipality during the same period resulted in the removal of 43,552 cubic meters of rubble and construction waste, in addition to collecting and treating 21,638 tons of household and solid waste, as part of ongoing efforts to maintain the cleanliness of neighborhoods, roads, and public facilities, and to enhance the efficiency of waste management operations.

Al-Zahrani added that the municipality carried out cleaning works at 733 sites and public squares throughout the governorate, in addition to washing and maintaining 6,202 waste barrels and containers, which enhances the readiness of the cleaning system, raises operational efficiency, and contributes to providing high-quality municipal services.
Al-Zahrani mentioned that the Eastern Region Municipality continues to implement its operational and supervisory plans according to ongoing field programs, aimed at reducing visual distortions, enhancing compliance with environmental requirements, and maintaining the cleanliness of cities, thereby providing a sustainable urban environment that meets the aspirations of residents and visitors, and raises the level of beneficiary satisfaction with municipal services.
