The transport and logistics sector in the Kingdom recorded growth in passenger and freight movement and logistics services during 2025, concurrent with infrastructure expansion and the development of a multimodal transport system, according to data from the Ministry of Transport and Logistics. Active movement: Data showed the transport of more than 157.35 million passengers via public rail transport, including the Riyadh Metro, alongside 97 million passengers via intra-city transport, and over 3 million passengers via intercity buses, while the number of rail passengers reached 10.8 million, and the network transported 18.5 million tons of goods. In maritime transport, the number of passengers via sea ferries reached 1.08 million passengers, while ports handled 8.3 million containers for exports and imports, and port freight movement recorded 1.93 million standard containers, reflecting continued trade activity. Non-profit organizations: The number of parcel delivery shipments exceeded 230 million parcels during the year, amid continued growth in postal and logistics services, while the number of activated logistics centers reached 24 centers, in addition to two economic logistics centers. On the non-profit sector side, the ministry supervised 18 associations, along with 4 associations under establishment, recorded 10 new establishment applications, while the number of non-profit organizations reached 16 organizations, which implemented 28 community programs with the participation of 240 volunteers and a total of 9,300 volunteer hours. The ministry also implemented a project to develop and empower non-profit organizations under its supervision, which included developing 8 associations, preparing 24 initiatives, implementing 136 workshops and meetings in the areas of governance and institutional structure, in addition to 16 governance assessments, while the beneficiary satisfaction rate reached 97%. Community service: The ministry also completed the preparation of a strategy for community service and the non-profit sector, which included studying more than 65 documents, implementing 12 field visits, reviewing 36 initiatives, ending with the selection of 12 main initiatives, in addition to studying the experiences of 30 non-profit entities and 14 experiences in 15 countries, with the aim of enhancing the contribution of the non-profit sector to the transport and logistics system.
