The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture has called on community members, coinciding with rising temperatures during the summer and increased demand for water, to raise awareness of the importance of conserving it and rationalizing its consumption, noting that the responsible use of this vital resource contributes to the preservation and development of water resources, enhancing sustainable water management, and achieving water security, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

The Ministry explained that rationalizing water consumption is achieved by adopting several important daily behaviors that contribute to maximizing its use, through repairing water leaks and reporting them as soon as they are discovered, using water-saving tools, which helps reduce wastage, as well as ensuring that taps are tightly closed after use, and using modern irrigation methods such as drip irrigation, due to their role in increasing water use efficiency and reducing losses.

The Ministry stressed that preserving water resources and rationalizing their consumption is a shared responsibility that requires strengthening efforts by all members of society, government, private and non-profit sectors, to raise awareness of optimal use, and adopt rational behaviors in water consumption; this contributes to supporting water security, maximizing its use, in addition to preserving natural resources and ensuring their sustainability for future generations.
