Roads Authority Announces Two Main Routes Linking Riyadh to Al Baha to Support Tourism
أعلنت هيئة الطرق عن توفير مسارين بريين رئيسيين يربطان العاصمة الرياض بمنطقة الباحة لدعم قطاع السياحة، الأول عبر بيشة بطول 877 كيلومترًا والثاني عبر الطائف بطول 1,010 كيلومترات.
The Roads Authority announced the provision of two main routes linking the city of Riyadh to the Al Baha region via an advanced road network, in a step aimed at supporting the tourism sector and facilitating the movement of travelers between the two regions.
The authority explained that the Kingdom's road network has witnessed remarkable development, extending over 73,000 km, which enabled the Kingdom to rank first globally in the Road Network Connectivity Index, according to reports from the World Competitiveness Forum.
The authority pointed out that the Al Baha region, located in the southwest of the Kingdom, has a modern road network extending over 1,777 km, enhancing its status as one of the most prominent mountain tourist destinations, and contributing to facilitating visitors' access to the dense forests, natural landmarks, and heritage villages for which the region is known.
Details of the routes between Riyadh and Al Baha
The authority explained that travelers by road from Riyadh to Al Baha have two main options: the first and fastest route passes through Bisha and is approximately 877 km long, with a travel time of about 9 hours. The second route passes through Taif Governorate and is approximately 1,010 km long, with a travel time of about 10 hours.
In the same context, the Al Baha region is characterized by geographical and environmental diversity that combines the heights of the Sarawat Mountains and the plains of Tihamah, in addition to diverse terrain including green mountain peaks, deep valleys, and natural forests, making it a major tourist destination in the Kingdom.
