Saudi Airlines denied on Saturday handing over planes it owned to a sanctioned entity, stressing that it sold the planes in question to another company registered outside the Kingdom in 2023, and that any operational or commercial link with them has been severed since then.

In a statement, the company said it 'monitored what was circulated in media and social media platforms regarding claims of handing over Boeing 777-200 aircraft it owned to a sanctioned entity.'

It added that it 'had previously sold those aircraft on June 7, 2023, to another company registered outside the Kingdom, in accordance with the commercial and legal frameworks followed in such cases.'

The company emphasized that 'any operational or commercial link to the mentioned aircraft has been severed since the date of sale.'
