The Yemen Legitimacy Support Alliance stressed on Saturday that the Houthi militia's statements against Saudi Arabia on Friday are nothing but an attempt to divert attention from its grave violations against the Yemeni people.

Major General Turki Al-Maliki, spokesman for the coalition forces, said that the militia, through its statements, seeks to export the economic problems and suffering of the Yemeni people it has caused, and to cover up the tribal and social rejection it faces to Yemen's regional surroundings and neighboring countries, explaining that such allegations come as an extension of the escalation and hostile behavior of the Houthis and their attempts to undermine regional and international security.

The spokesman pointed out that Saudi Arabia, the coalition, and international partners have taken initiatives and efforts to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people as a result of the Houthi coup, indicating that the Kingdom also worked to resolve the Yemeni crisis through a roadmap approved by the Yemeni government and rejected by the militia, which went further by rejecting permanent peace solutions, attacking maritime navigation lines and global trade in the southern Red Sea and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.

Al-Maliki noted that the militia is exposing the capabilities of the Yemeni people to targeting and comprehensive destruction at the ports of Hodeidah, Salif, and Ras Isa, and Sana'a International Airport, and that also includes the infrastructure of power stations, factories, and other economic assets of the Yemeni people.

Major General Al-Maliki affirmed that the coalition will respond and strike with all firmness and unprecedented force to confront any attempts to target Saudi Arabia, its citizens, and national assets, or attempts to violate Yemen's sovereignty, in accordance with international humanitarian law and its customary rules.
