Kingdom Affirms Water Security Priority in Vision 2030

The Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations, Ambassador Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Wasil, participated in the launch event of the Global Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene Services Sector Resilience Index (GWSRI), organized by UNICEF and its partners at the United Nations headquarters in New York.
In the Kingdom's address, Ambassador Al-Wasil welcomed the launch of the index, commending the efforts of UNICEF and its partners, stressing that enhancing the resilience of water systems has become a necessity amid the challenges of climate change, water scarcity, and growing crises.
He affirmed that water security is a national priority for the Kingdom under Vision 2030, noting that investment in infrastructure, innovation, and proactive planning enhances the sustainability of water services, emphasizing the importance of international cooperation, exchange of expertise, and partnerships to support water security and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
