Saudi Foreign Minister and Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Hold Official Bilateral Meeting
A meeting was held in the Kingdom between the Saudi and Iraqi sides, chaired by His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and His Excellency Dr. Fuad Hussein, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the sisterly Republic of Iraq, in the presence of a number of Their Excellencies from both sides.
During the meeting, the fraternal relations between the two brotherly countries and ways to enhance them in various fields were discussed, in addition to discussing the latest developments in the region and issues of common interest.
The two sides stressed the importance of respecting national sovereignty, good neighborliness, non-interference in internal affairs, and rejecting the use of the territory of any state to threaten the security and stability of other states. Iraq reaffirmed its commitment not to allow the use of its territory or airspace as a launching point for any acts or attacks targeting the Kingdom, or the Gulf Cooperation Council states and the region's states.
The two sides also emphasized the importance of supporting Iraq's security and stability, strengthening the role of its national institutions, and continuing coordination and cooperation between the two countries in a way that serves common interests and contributes to maintaining the security and stability of the region.
