Saudi Foreign Minister and Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister Hold Official Bilateral Meeting
Riyadh, Muharram 27, 1448 AH, corresponding to July 12, 2026, SPA — A meeting was held in the Kingdom between the Saudi and Iraqi sides, chaired by His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and His Excellency Dr. Fuad Hussein, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the sisterly Republic of Iraq, with the attendance of a number of excellencies and gentlemen from both sides. During the meeting, brotherly relations between the two sisterly countries and ways to enhance them in various fields were discussed, in addition to discussing the latest developments in the region and issues of common interest. The two sides emphasized the importance of respecting national sovereignty, good neighborliness, non-interference in internal affairs, and rejection of using any country's territory to threaten the security and stability of other countries. Iraq renewed its commitment not to allow its territory or airspace to be used as a launching pad for any acts or attacks targeting the Kingdom, the Gulf Cooperation Council states, and regional countries.
