Saudi Foreign Minister Receives Kenyan Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Holds First Saudi-Kenyan Political Consultation Committee Meeting
Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah received Kenyan Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Musalia Mudavadi in Riyadh. They co-chaired the first Saudi-Kenyan Political Consultation Committee meeting, resulting in the signing of three memoranda of understanding and an agreement on recruitment of Kenyan workers.
Riyadh, Muharram 20, 1448 AH, corresponding to July 5, 2026, SPA – His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, received at the ministry's headquarters in Riyadh today His Excellency Dr. Musalia Mudavadi, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kenya. Following the reception, His Highness the Minister of Foreign Affairs and His Excellency the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kenya held the first meeting of the Saudi-Kenyan Political Consultation Committee, aiming to develop relations between the two friendly countries, enhance coordination and consultation between them to serve their common interests, and contribute to supporting the security and stability of the region. At the conclusion of the meeting, three memoranda of understanding were signed: - First: a memorandum of understanding in the field of direct investment promotion, signed by Saudi Minister of Investment Fahd bin Abduljalil Al-Saif and the Kenyan side by His Excellency Dr. Musalia Mudavadi, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs. - Second: a memorandum of understanding on cooperation and mutual assistance in customs matters, signed by Saudi Governor of the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, Engineer Suhail bin Muhammad Abanmi, and the Kenyan side by His Excellency Dr. Musalia Mudavadi, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs. - Third: a memorandum of understanding between the Saudi Export-Import Bank and the Kenya Development Corporation, signed by Saudi CEO of the Saudi Export-Import Bank, Engineer Saad bin Abdulaziz Al-Khulab, and the Kenyan side by the Director General of the Kenya Development Corporation, Dr. Nora Ratiemo. Also signed was an agreement on the recruitment and employment of Kenyan workers, signed by Saudi Deputy Minister of Human Resources and Social Development for Labor, Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Abuthnain, and Kenyan Minister of Labor and Social Protection, Dr. Alfred Nganga Mutua. The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Engineer Walid Al-Khuraiji, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, Ambassador Dr. Saud Al-Sati, Saudi Ambassador to Kenya Saad Al-Nafiee, and Director General of the General Administration of African Affairs, Saqr Al-Qurashi. // End //16:21 T M 0109
