Saudi market rises 0.3% supported by energy sector
TASI rose 0.3% supported by Aramco, Acwa Power, and Saudi Electrical Industries, with trading volume of about 4 billion riyals, while a number of leading stocks declined.
The Saudi main market index (TASI) ended Thursday's session up 0.3%, adding 29 points to close at 10,804 points, with total trading value of about 4 billion riyals.
The index recorded its highest level during the session at 10,804 points, while its lowest level was 10,733 points.
Market performance was supported by gains in Acwa Power and Saudi Aramco shares; the former rose 3% to close at 194 riyals, while Saudi Aramco increased 1% to 26.84 riyals.
Saudi Electrical Industries shares surged by the maximum limit to close at 14.83 riyals, following the company's announcement of higher profits in the second quarter of 2026.
Shares of Suleiman Al Habib, Arabian Drilling, Al Babtain, CISCO Holding, Bupa Arabia, and Elm also rose, with gains ranging between 1% and 4%.
In contrast, Saudi National Bank fell 1% to close at 39.56 riyals, while SABIC, Dar Al Arkan, Sipchem, Jarir, Al Arabi, and Investment Bank declined between 1% and 3%.
Jamjoom Pharma dropped 3% to close at 142.40 riyals.
