Signing of 3 MoUs and a Joint Agreement between Saudi Arabia and Kenya
The first meeting of the Saudi-Kenyan Political Consultations Committee, held today (Sunday) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Riyadh, witnessed the signing of 3 memoranda of understanding between the Kingdom and Kenya, attended by Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and his Kenyan counterpart Musalia Mudavadi.
The meeting was held to develop relations between the two friendly countries, enhance coordination and consultation to serve their mutual interests, and contribute to supporting the region's security and stability.
Agreement signed between the two countries on the recruitment and employment of Kenyan workers.
Minister of Investment Fahad Al-Saeed signed with the Kenyan Foreign Minister a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of encouraging direct investment. The meeting also witnessed another memorandum of understanding on cooperation and mutual assistance in customs matters, signed on the Saudi side by Governor of the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority Suhail Abanmi, and on the Kenyan side by Musalia Mudavadi.
The third memorandum of understanding was signed between the Saudi Export-Import Bank and the Kenya Development Corporation, represented on the Saudi side by the CEO of the Saudi Export-Import Bank Saad Alkhalb, and on the Kenyan side by the Managing Director of the Kenya Development Corporation Dr. Nora Ratemo.
During the meeting, an agreement was also signed on the recruitment and employment of Kenyan workers, signed on the Saudi side by the Deputy Minister of Human Resources and Social Development for the Labor Sector Abdullah Abuthunain, and on the Kenyan side by the Minister of Labor and Social Protection Alfred Nganja Mutua.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Waleed Al-Khuraiji, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs Ambassador Saud Al-Sati, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' Ambassador to Kenya Saad Al-Nafie, and Director General of the General Department of African Countries Saqr Al-Qurashi.
