Saudi Foreign Minister Receives Kenyan Prime Minister, Holds First Political Consultations Committee Meeting

Riyadh, Muharram 20, 1448 AH, corresponding to July 5, 2026, SPA – His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, received at the ministry’s headquarters in Riyadh today, His Excellency Dr. Musalia Mudavadi, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kenya. Following the reception, HRH the Minister of Foreign Affairs and HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kenya held the first meeting of the Saudi-Kenyan Political Consultations Committee, with the aim of developing relations between the two friendly countries, enhancing coordination and consultation between them to serve their common interests and contribute to supporting the security and stability of the region. At the conclusion of the meeting, three memoranda of understanding were signed: - First: A memorandum of understanding in the field of encouraging direct investment, signed on the Saudi side by HE Minister of Investment Fahd bin Abduljalil Al-Saif, and on the Kenyan side by HE Dr. Musalia Mudavadi, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs. - Second: A memorandum of understanding on cooperation and mutual assistance in customs matters, signed on the Saudi side by HE Governor of the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority Engineer Suhail bin Muhammad Abanmi, and on the Kenyan side by HE Dr. Musalia Mudavadi, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs. - Third: A memorandum of understanding between the Saudi Export-Import Bank and the Kenya Development Corporation, signed on the Saudi side by HE CEO of the Saudi Export-Import Bank Engineer Saad bin Abdulaziz Al-Khaleb, and on the Kenyan side by the Director General of the Kenya Development Corporation Dr. Nora Ratiemo. Also signed was an agreement on the recruitment and employment of Kenyan workers, signed on the Saudi side by HE Deputy Minister of Human Resources and Social Development for the Labor Sector Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Abuthnain, and on the Kenyan side by HE Minister of Labor and Social Protection Dr. Alfred Nganga Mutua. The meeting was attended by HE Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Engineer Walid Al-Khuraiji, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs Ambassador Dr. Saud Al-Sati, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ Ambassador to the Republic of Kenya Saad Al-Nafie, and Director General of the General Administration for African Affairs Saqr Al-Qurashi. // End //16:20 T M 0109
