The spread of the large sand plover in a number of wild sites in the Northern Borders region reflects the region's biodiversity richness.

Nasser Al-Majlad, head of the Aman Environmental Association, pointed out that monitoring the large sand plover is a positive indicator of the health of natural habitats in the region.

He noted that the plover belongs to the Charadriidae family and is a common migratory bird, characterized by a strong build, a thick and relatively long beak, and long legs that help it move in sandy environments, coasts, and exposed mudflats.

He emphasized that the successive monitoring of migratory birds in the Northern Borders region reflects the quality and stability of ecosystems, highlighting the importance of preserving natural habitats, enhancing environmental awareness, and supporting efforts aimed at protecting biodiversity.
