Madinah, Safar 05, 1448 AH corresponding to July 19, 2026 SPA – Madinah is witnessing an expansion in sustainable mobility solutions through the preparation of safe bicycle paths on main streets within neighborhoods, squares, and public parks; with the aim of providing an environmentally friendly means of transport and facilitating the movement of residents and visitors through an integrated network of bicycle stations. The Madinah Region Development Authority stated that more than (165) bicycle stations, operated by a specialized national company under the supervision of the Madinah Region Development Authority, are part of an advanced infrastructure that includes dedicated bicycle tracks exceeding (220) kilometers in length, distributed across most neighborhoods and vital sites of the city; thus providing a suitable and safe environment for bicycle users. The project includes more than (30) vital sites connecting bus stops, commercial centers, and residential neighborhoods; enhancing integration between different modes of transport and facilitating access to daily destinations without the need for private vehicles. The bicycle mobility service contributes to encouraging the use of environmentally friendly transport, reducing carbon emissions, and improving the mobility experience for residents and visitors, especially in vital areas, in addition to supporting healthy lifestyles by promoting cycling, reducing traffic congestion, and providing flexible and fast transport options that support integration with the public transport system; thereby raising the efficiency of movement and mobility within Madinah. The project reflects Madinah's direction towards developing a modern and sustainable urban transport system that aligns with urban development and quality of life goals, by providing safe and accessible transport options that meet the needs of all segments of society. // End // 13:43 PM 0069
