Tourist Package Visa - Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Jarallah
The Kingdom possesses natural geographical features that qualify it to be one of the most important tourist destinations in West Asia, which may not be available in many countries: summer tourism, winter tourism, and religious visits in the two holy cities of Mecca and Medina. Arabs and peoples of the Middle East.
Saudi Vision 2030 benefited from natural formations and made them natural foundations on which the vision relies within an area of about 2 million square kilometers, the area of the Kingdom. These natural foundations are:
Seas: The Kingdom overlooks three seas: the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aqaba (Neom Bay), and the Arabian Gulf. With coastlines extending 3,800 kilometers.
Mountains: The Western Highlands mountain range extends about 1,600 kilometers in Saudi Arabia, stretching from the border with Yemen in the south from Jazan to the Jordanian border in the north in the Tabuk region. Their heights range from 800 to 3,015 meters above sea level, with Jabal Al-Souda peak in Asir region being the highest peak in the Kingdom. Tuwaiq Mountains are a limestone mountain range extending over 1,200 kilometers in an arc shape on the Najd plateau in central Saudi Arabia, starting from south of Wadi Al-Dawasir and the Empty Quarter in the south to Al-Zulfi Governorate in the north, with extensions in Qassim and Hail.
Sands: Sand accumulations in the Kingdom amount to about (635,000) square kilometers, representing about (33%) of the Kingdom's total area of about (2) million square kilometers. On some of these sands, (8) royal reserves are established, and amidst them are agricultural oases.
As for administrative procedures for tourism attraction, the Kingdom has issued a technical procedural guide that will serve tourism and accelerate its work, which is expected to significantly boost projects and tourist delegations. In this regard: On Monday, July 6, 2026, the Kingdom launched the experimental phase of the 'Tourist Package Visa' service, which allows obtaining a tourist visa as part of an integrated travel package booked through accredited travel and tourism service providers ('General Category') in designated experimental markets.
This service represents integrated efforts between the ministries of Tourism, Foreign Affairs, and Interior, in cooperation with the 'Insurance Authority,' and aims to:
- Enable tourists to book packages that combine various elements of the trip, including flight tickets, accommodation in licensed tourism hospitality facilities, and arrangement of electronic visa issuance service, with the possibility of adding tourism experiences, activities, and events.
- Reduce the steps required for tourists to plan and book the trip, instead of managing travel bookings and visa procedures separately.
- Tourists who meet the service conditions will be able to obtain an integrated package that includes flight tickets, accommodation in licensed tourism hospitality facilities, and arrangement of electronic visa issuance service, within a more connected and seamless trip.
