Upcoming Friday Sermon Dedicated to Discussing the Status and Rulings of Friday Prayer
Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, Sheikh Dr. Abdul Latif Al-Sheikh, has directed the honorable preachers of mosques across various regions of the Kingdom to dedicate the upcoming Friday sermon, on the 3rd of Safar 1448 AH, to discussing the status of Friday prayer in Islam, its rulings and etiquette. This stems from the importance of Friday prayer in Islam, from the rulings and etiquette mentioned in the Holy Quran and the purified Prophetic Sunnah, and from the need to remind people of these rulings and etiquette.
The directive included an explanation of the status of Friday prayer in Islam, that it is one of the most obligatory duties and one of the greatest gatherings of Muslims, and that Allah Almighty commanded to hasten to it and not to prefer any worldly matters over it, citing His verse: "O you who have believed, when the call is proclaimed for the prayer on the day of Friday, proceed to the remembrance of Allah and leave trade. That is better for you, if you only knew."
