Urgent - Ban on Teaching Unapproved Curricula and Study Plans in All Schools
The National Center for Curricula has banned the implementation of any unapproved materials or study plans in all public and private schools for the academic year 1448 AH. This regulatory step aims to unify the educational reference and ensure the quality of content in line with national orientations.
In the sixth edition of the Study Plans Guide, the center emphasized that this ban is based on Cabinet Decision No. (631), noting that the measure prevents the introduction of educational programs outside the official framework to enhance curriculum consistency.

The guide explained that the regulation includes general and continuing education schools, the arts and Chinese language initiative, as well as institutes for people with disabilities, noting that schools implementing gifted programs and Dar Al-Hadith are also obligated to follow the approved educational fields. The center pointed out that Saudi schools abroad are required to follow the general education plan, with the possibility of adding lessons on local culture under conditions, noting that such addition requires review by the center and approval from the Saudi ambassador in the host country.
Individual programs
Regarding full-inclusion schools, the guide added that they implement the general plan while carrying out individual programs suited to students' abilities, emphasizing that all learners are subject to evaluation in approved subjects to ensure fairness and achieve targeted learning outcomes. The edition revealed allocating no more than 5% of the total subject lessons for professional development of teachers through programs of the National Institute for Professional Educational Development. It noted that the update of the guide came in response to the needs of the educational field and the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
