Urgent - Inclusion of Chinese for Third Intermediate Grade.. and Establishment of Specialized Schools and Temporary Plans
The National Curriculum Center has included the Chinese language subject in the academic plan for the third intermediate grade in schools implementing the program, concurrently with the creation of specialized schools and temporary academic plans, as part of the sixth edition of the guide to approved academic plans for the academic year 1448 AH, within the framework of developing the educational system, diversifying academic tracks, and enhancing the flexibility of plans to align with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
The guide explained that the inclusion of Chinese comes within the expansion of foreign language education, as it is one of the core academic subjects in schools selected to implement the program, contributing to the development of students' language skills and preparing them to deal with global changes and future requirements.

The guide also introduced specialized schools among schools implementing gifted programs, as an educational track that provides quality services to students according to approved standards and determinants, each school specializing in its field, alongside the continuation of gifted classes and school care programs that offer specialized educational programs and advanced pedagogical experiences during the school day. The Center also introduced temporary academic plans, which are approved for a specific period in response to educational, organizational, or operational circumstances or changes, aiming to provide alternative or improved educational models that ensure the continuity of the educational process and support schools in achieving their goals efficiently. The updates included the adoption of academic plans for schools of the Arts Initiative, which include teaching culture, visual arts, music, and performing arts as core subjects in selected schools, as part of an approach aimed at developing creativity, discovering talents, and enhancing students' artistic skills. The Center also updated a number of terms in the guide, along with updating appendices, and adding the academic plan for summer campaigns and related regulations, in line with developments in the education sector and enhancing the flexibility of implementing academic plans.
