Users of the Turba - Shu'aybat road northeast of Hail have been repeatedly complaining about the poor structural condition of the road, which is riddled with wide cracks, potholes, and subsidence in the asphalt layer, causing damage to vehicles and frequent accidents. Meanwhile, intermittent patching operations have failed to address the problem.

The road, approximately 60 kilometers long, is one of the most vital roads in the region, as it connects parts of the Northern Borders Region and Hafar Al-Batin Governorate to the Hail region. It witnesses heavy daily traffic from Hail Cement Company trucks and feed trucks, as well as congestion from picnickers during the spring season.

The users confirmed that previous maintenance operations are no longer effective due to the road's expired lifespan, pointing out that the radical solution lies in completely resurfacing it and working on dualization, similar to the Shu'aybat - Baq'a road, given its importance and traffic volume.

The users appealed to officials at the Ministry of Transport and Logistics for urgent intervention to include the road among the priorities of road maintenance projects, stressing that it desperately needs to be converted into a dual carriageway to accommodate its increasing number of users.

"Sabq" had documented images from a section of the road near Shu'aybat Al-Miyah village, clearly showing the density of cracks and potholes extending from the Turba 10 km sign towards Al-Shihiyah village to the south.
