Violators of Environmental System Apprehended and Legal Penalties Imposed
The Special Forces for Environmental Security apprehended a citizen violating the environmental system for failing to comply with instructions and guidelines for preserving vegetation by lighting a fire in unauthorized areas in the Imam Faisal bin Turki Royal Reserve.
Penalty for entering meadows with vehicles and cars is a fine of up to 2,000 riyals.
The forces also apprehended a citizen violating the environmental system for entering the protected meadows and wild gardens in the Imam Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Royal Reserve with his vehicle, and legal measures were taken against him.
The forces stated that the penalty for entering protected meadows and wild gardens with vehicles and cars is a fine of up to 2,000 riyals, urging reporting any cases of aggression against the environment or wildlife by calling 911 in the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, and 999 and 996 in the rest of the Kingdom's regions.
The forces affirmed that the penalty for lighting a fire in unauthorized places in forests and national parks is a fine of up to 3,000 riyals.
