1057 Seizures of Contraband at Customs Ports in a Week
The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) reported the seizure of 1,057 cases of smuggled contraband at land, sea and air customs ports during the past week, as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance security and protect society from all types and forms of prohibited items.
ZATCA explained that the confiscated items included 121 types of narcotics, such as hashish, cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine (Shabu), Captagon pills and others, in addition to 374 restricted substances. Customs ports also thwarted 2,264 items of tobacco and its derivatives, along with 39 cases of monetary amounts and 6 types of weapons and their accessories.
It affirmed that it is continuing to tighten customs control over the Kingdom's imports and exports to achieve societal security and protection, through ongoing cooperation and coordination with all its partners from relevant authorities.

Through these channels, the authority receives reports related to smuggling crimes and violations of the Unified Customs System in complete confidentiality, granting a financial reward to the informant if the information proves correct.
