At least 4 Palestinians were killed and 7 injured, while 11 were arrested on Friday in attacks carried out by settlers and the Israeli army in 16 areas across 6 governorates in the occupied West Bank.

The attacks varied between gunfire, incursions, beatings, arson of a house, property, and agricultural land, in addition to closing town entrances and setting up military checkpoints.

This came according to a tally prepared by Anadolu based on data from the official Palestinian news agency WAFA and reports from Anadolu correspondents, as of 20:45 local time.

The attacks were concentrated in the northern West Bank, affecting 7 areas in Nablus governorate: the city of Nablus and the towns and villages of Tell, Sarra, Awarta, Beit Furik, Salem, and Iraq Burin.

They also included 3 villages in Qalqilya governorate: Jit, Fara'ta, and Immatin; 3 towns in Salfit governorate: Deir Istiya, Haris, and Deir Ballut; in addition to the village of 'Aba al-Sharqiya in Jenin governorate.

The attacks extended to the town of Deir Jarir in Ramallah and al-Bireh governorate (center) and the village of Husan in Bethlehem governorate (south).

** Nablus Governorate

Friday's attacks in Nablus governorate began with a morning assault by settlers under the protection of the Israeli army on the town of Tell, resulting in the deaths of 4 Palestinians and injuries to 4 others.

Two Israelis were killed during the exchange of fire that occurred as residents resisted the attack, according to Palestinian and Israeli sources.

Following the events in Tell, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz decided to carry out a large-scale military operation in the West Bank.

The army reinforced its forces in the area and imposed a siege on the city of Nablus and surrounding towns.

As part of the escalation, Israeli forces stormed Nablus city and surrounded Nablus Specialist Hospital, then raided the emergency department and assaulted medical staff.

The forces arrested two brothers inside the hospital, one of whom was wounded in the events of Tell town, and seized surveillance camera recordings.

The Israeli army expanded its incursions east of the governorate, raiding the town of Beit Furik, searching several homes, and arresting 7 Palestinians.

It also stormed the village of Salem, raided homes there, and arrested two Palestinians.

Simultaneously, settlers attacked the town of Sarra near Tell, beating 3 Palestinians, setting fire to a house and the outskirts of the town, and attacking property.

The attackers fired tear gas canisters at residents and their homes, while the army stormed the town, and Palestinians confronted the settlers with stones.

Less than two hours later, settlers attacked the town of Awarta, attempting to reach Palestinian homes, but residents confronted them; no information on casualties was reported.

Settlers also attacked the town of Iraq Burin and set fire to agricultural land, sparking clashes with residents.

** Qalqilya Governorate

In Qalqilya governorate, about 100 settlers attacked the village of Jit, pelting Palestinian homes with stones, under the protection of the Israeli army.

Dozens of settlers also attacked the village of Fara'ta, opening fire at Palestinians, and setting fire to agricultural land and property in Fara'ta and Immatin.

Aqef Juma, coordinator of the Popular Resistance Committees in Qalqilya, said in a statement that the attacks resulted in injuries in Fara'ta, the number of which he did not specify.

He added that the attack included assaults on homes and arson of agricultural land, concurrent with another attack on the nearby village of Immatin.

** Ramallah and al-Bireh Governorate

In Ramallah and al-Bireh governorate, an Israeli army force, accompanied by military vehicles and infantry units, stormed the town of Deir Jarir east of Ramallah city.

The soldiers fired sound bombs and stopped a number of Palestinians, checking their IDs, without reporting any casualties or arrests.

** Salfit Governorate

In Salfit governorate, the Israeli army closed the entrances to the towns of Deir Istiya, Haris, and Deir Ballut, and tightened its military measures around them.

The closures impeded the movement of Palestinians and their vehicles, alongside an Israeli military deployment in the area.

** Bethlehem Governorate

In Bethlehem governorate, Friday evening, the Israeli army set up a military checkpoint in the al-Matina area at the eastern entrance of the village of Husan west of the city.

The army stopped vehicles, checked passengers' IDs, and searched their mobile phones, causing a severe traffic jam, according to local sources.

** Jenin Governorate

In Jenin governorate, Israeli army forces closed the western entrance of the village of 'Aba al-Sharqiya south of Jenin city with earthen barriers.

Burhan Azmouti, head of the 'Aba al-Sharqiya village council, said the closure has isolated the village and increased residents' suffering, and is part of the tightening of Israeli military measures around Jenin.

The occupied West Bank has seen an escalation in Israeli army and settler attacks since the start of the genocide war on the Gaza Strip in October 2023.

The attacks have resulted in the deaths of 1,182 Palestinians and injuries to thousands, in addition to the arrest of about 24,000, according to official Palestinian data.
