Al-Budaiwi: Iran's targeting of Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan constitutes war crimes
His Excellency Mr. Jasem Mohamed Al-Budaiwi, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), condemned in the strongest terms the treacherous Iranian attacks that targeted the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Kuwait, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, as well as their targeting of infrastructure and civilian facilities, which resulted in injuries to a number of civilian workers in the State of Kuwait.
His Excellency affirmed that Iran's actions constitute a highly dangerous escalation, a flagrant violation of international law and the United Nations Charter, and war crimes that require international accountability and prosecution, given the targeting of infrastructure and civilian facilities, in blatant violation of all international norms and covenants, and a persistence in undermining the security and stability of the region.
His Excellency stressed that the GCC stands united with the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Kuwait, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and supports all measures they take to protect their security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, expressing his wishes for a speedy recovery for the injured in the State of Kuwait.
