The Jordanian army announced on Saturday that Royal Air Force planes intercepted and shot down 4 drones that entered the kingdom's airspace over the past 24 hours, without causing any injuries or material damage, shortly after intercepting 10 Iranian missiles.
A responsible military source said in an army statement that 'Royal Air Force planes intercepted and shot down 4 drones that entered the kingdom's airspace over the past 24 hours.'
The source clarified that 'no human injuries or material damage occurred as a result of dealing with the drones.'
He affirmed the readiness of the Jordanian Armed Forces to confront any threat targeting the kingdom's security and the safety of its citizens, whether through drones or missiles, and to take the necessary operational measures to intercept and thwart them.
Earlier on Saturday, the Jordanian army announced that air defense systems had confronted at dawn today 10 Iranian missiles that entered Jordanian airspace and were targeting the kingdom's territory, and managed to intercept and down them.
These developments come amid rising regional tensions, as the region has seen mutual attacks between Iran and the United States and its allies in recent days.
On Saturday morning, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced in a statement that its naval force carried out 'an intense attack with missiles and drones targeting the fuel support and supply dock of the US fleet in the port of Al-Ahmadi in Kuwait, and the enemy's drone warehouse at Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain,' according to the Iranian News Agency (IRNA).
The US Central Command (CENTCOM) also announced on Saturday the completion of the seventh wave of nighttime attacks on Iran.
It clarified in a statement that the strikes targeted observation points, military logistics infrastructure, and Iranian naval capabilities.
It added: 'The US Central Command continues to hold Iran responsible, and continues to impose the naval blockade.'
For days, the United States has been conducting successive waves of strikes on sites inside Iran, while Tehran has been launching attacks on what it says are US ships, facilities, and military bases in several countries in the region.
On June 18, 2026, Washington and Tehran signed a memorandum of understanding that included the cessation of military operations and the start of negotiations to reach a broader agreement.
But US President Donald Trump announced on July 8 of this month the end of the interim agreement, after the targeting of 3 ships in the Strait of Hormuz, leading Washington to resume its strikes inside Iran, amid escalating Iranian responses in the region.
Washington demands guarantees for freedom and security of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, while Tehran insists on imposing a mechanism to regulate the transit of ships through the strategic passage, exacerbating fears of disruption to oil and gas exports from the region.
