The official spokesman for the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen, Major General Turki Al-Maliki, affirmed that the terrorist Houthi militia committed a cowardly and reckless act by targeting commercial ships in the Red Sea, adding that to its record of crimes and maritime terrorism in one of the most important international waterways.

All Yemeni ports, including Hodeidah, Ras Isa, and Salif, are open to maritime navigation.

He explained that the Kingdom has stood and will continue to stand by the Yemeni people and their government in the most difficult circumstances and changes, affirming its continued support in confronting the terrorist Houthi militias.

Major General Al-Maliki denied targeting Hodeidah port, pointing out that all Yemeni ports, including Hodeidah, Ras Isa, and Salif, are open to maritime navigation and receive commercial ships loaded with food items, goods, fuel, and construction materials, while the Houthi militia continues to refuse to operate flights from Sana'a airport and insists on imposing a blockade that increases the suffering of Yemenis in areas under its control.

He stated that the coalition carried out a firm and strong response after setting its priorities and interest in preserving the capabilities of the Yemeni people, and that the targeting focused on legitimate military objectives related to the threat to ships in the Red Sea, affirming that the operation achieved its objectives in accordance with the principle of proportionality and the provisions of international humanitarian law.

He stressed that the Joint Forces Command will continue to take necessary measures to protect ships and the interests of the Kingdom, and that the continuation of hostile acts by the militia will be met with a response without leniency.
