The Houthis in Yemen announced imposing what they described as a 'naval blockade' on Saudi Arabia, saying the decision takes effect immediately, while Saudi Arabia announced the start of measures to protect coalition ships while crossing the Bab el-Mandeb strait.
This comes at a time when Iran asked the Houthis, its allies in Yemen, to prepare to close the strait if Iranian energy infrastructure is subjected to American attacks.
