An Egyptian pharmacist died in a horrific accident in front of a hospital on the Fayoum-Cairo road after a heavy truck trailer loaded with sand overturned onto his private car, completely crushing it and killing him instantly. The incident was captured by a surveillance camera and the footage spread on social media, yesterday, Friday.

Major General Ahmed Ezzat, Assistant Minister of Interior and Director of Fayoum Security, received a notification from the First Fayoum Police Station about a trailer truck loaded with sand overturning onto a private car driven by the young pharmacist Mohamed Talaat.

Investigations ongoing

Security forces moved to the accident site, where they supervised the transfer of the body to the Fayoum General Hospital morgue, and also managed to arrest the driver of the truck that caused the accident.

The Public Prosecution ordered the release of the pharmacist's body for burial after completing legal procedures, while detaining the trailer driver, and appointing competent authorities to conduct a drug test. Investigations continue to uncover the circumstances of the incident and determine legal responsibilities. In a scene overshadowed by grief, residents of Kafr al-Zaafaran village in the Ibsheway district of Fayoum province mourned the young pharmacist's body as it was laid to rest in the family cemetery in New Fayoum City, with wide participation from locals and family members.
