His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Interior, held today an official talks session with His Excellency Fernando Grande-Marlaska, Minister of Interior of the Kingdom of Spain, in the Spanish capital, Madrid.

At the beginning of the session, His Highness stated that the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister - may God preserve them - emphasize continuing to enhance security cooperation with the Kingdom of Spain, serving the common interests of the two countries.

During the talks session, the bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Kingdom of Spain were reviewed, and ways to enhance security cooperation and coordination between the interior ministries of the two friendly countries were discussed, in addition to discussing a number of topics of common interest.

The two sides stressed the importance of continuing to develop bilateral cooperation in security fields, including combating crime in all its forms, tracking its perpetrators, confronting drug trafficking and money laundering networks, and combating terrorism and extremism in all its forms, in addition to enhancing the exchange of expertise and experiences, and capacity building among specialists on both sides.

Following the talks session, His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Interior, and His Excellency the Minister of Interior of the Kingdom of Spain signed the Comprehensive Training Document between the interior ministries of the two countries, which aims to exchange expertise, build capacities, support training and rehabilitation programs, and develop areas of work of common interest.

Attending the talks session and the signing of the document were Her Highness Princess Haifa bint Abdulaziz bin Ayaf Al Muqrin, Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Kingdom of Spain and the Principality of Andorra; His Excellency Assistant Minister of Interior Dr. Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al-Faleh; Director General of the Minister's Office for Studies and Research Major General Khalid bin Ibrahim Al-Arwan; Director General of Legal Affairs and International Cooperation Ahmed bin Suleiman Al-Issa; and Deputy General Supervisor of International Partnerships Programs Major General Firas bin Saleh Al-Saleh.

Attending from the Spanish side were Director General of International Relations and Foreign Affairs Elena Garzón Otamendi, Deputy Director General of International Police Cooperation Eduardo Porrubio León, and Assistant Deputy Director General of International Police Cooperation Cristina Andreu Graells.
