The Israeli army on Friday attacked 11 towns and areas in southern Lebanon with airstrikes, artillery shelling, demolition operations, patrols, and incendiary bombs, resulting in the injury of a Syrian worker and the outbreak of fires in agricultural fields.

This came according to a tally by Anadolu based on data from the Lebanese National News Agency as of 16:00 GMT.

The escalation comes despite an agreement on the start of an Israeli withdrawal from two pilot areas in southern Lebanon, as a Lebanese military source told Anadolu that no withdrawal has been implemented so far, while a tripartite military meeting was postponed for technical reasons related to Washington and Tel Aviv.

Meanwhile, the Hebrew newspaper Maariv reported that the Israeli army has begun establishing new permanent military positions to solidify its presence in southern Lebanon.

Since March 2, 2026, Israel has continued its aggression against Lebanon, resulting in the deaths of 4,324 people and injuries to 12,224 others, in addition to the displacement of more than one million people, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health.
