When confronted, he confessed to committing the incident as described, and justified his escape by fearing accountability. The car was confiscated and legal measures were taken.

It is noteworthy that the incident moved Egyptians to tears. A girl was run over and killed on Monday in a horrific accident in Shorouk, east of Cairo. Her leg was amputated due to the force of the car hitting her as she crossed the road.

According to eyewitnesses among the victim's colleagues, 'Samar' went to her workplace at a beauty center on her birthday to receive her salary before a reckless driver hit her while she was crossing the road and fled.

Despite the horror, she was still conscious after the accident and called out to passersby saying, 'I'm not from here... Help me, please.'

She also told her colleagues: 'Tell my mother to pray for me... Please don't leave me.' After being transferred to the hospital, the medical report revealed that Samar arrived at the emergency department in extremely critical condition, suffering from severe injuries, heavy bleeding, and the amputation of one leg, requiring urgent medical intervention in an attempt to save her life, but it failed.

In a new chapter of tragedy, the victim's mother died hours after the accident from grief and sorrow over her daughter's sudden and horrific death.

The victim Samar's brother said in press statements that the accused driver did not bother to save her or call an ambulance, stressing that doctors at the hospital said every minute would have made a significant difference in saving her life despite the severity and difficulty of her serious injuries.

Social media platforms were abuzz with details of the shocking accident, with many calling for the urgent arrest and trial of the driver, while others expressed shock at the painful details and great sympathy for the situation, especially after the mother's death from grief over her daughter's loss.
