(CNN)-- The US Central Command announced in a social media post that the United States conducted another round of strikes against Iran at 10 PM Eastern Time, targeting dozens of military sites near the Strait of Hormuz and coastal areas.

CENTCOM said on platform "X" that "US fighter jets, drones, and warships fired precision munitions targeting Iranian missile and drone sites, naval capabilities, and coastal defense systems during a seven-hour wave of attacks, aimed at further undermining Iran's ability to threaten commercial shipping and civilian vessel crews."

Central Command added: "US forces remain vigilant and at full combat readiness, prepared to carry out operations as directed by the commander-in-chief."

This is the fourth consecutive night that the US has launched strikes against Iran, and the US side had earlier resumed its naval blockade of ships heading to and from Iranian ports.
