GCC condemns treacherous Iranian attacks on Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan
The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jassim Mohamed Al-Budaiwi, condemned in the strongest terms the treacherous Iranian attacks targeting the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Kuwait, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, along with the targeting of infrastructure and vital facilities that accompanied them, which resulted in injuries to a number of members of the armed forces in the State of Kuwait.
He affirmed, according to an official statement issued by the GCC on its account on platform 'X', that Iran's action constitutes an unprecedented escalation, reflects a clear determination to violate all international rules and norms, and represents an unacceptable disregard for the consequences of dragging the region into further tension and instability.
The Secretary-General pointed out that targeting infrastructure and vital facilities not only threatens the targeted states themselves but directly affects the security of the entire region. He called on the international community to take practical and deterrent steps to stop the repeated Iranian attacks and hold those responsible accountable, in order to preserve regional security and peace and prevent the region from sliding into further escalation.
Al-Budaiwi stressed that the GCC stands united with the sisterly states and supports all measures they take to protect their security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, expressing his wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured members of the armed forces in the State of Kuwait.
