General / Secretary-General of the Islamic Alliance Receives Chargé d'Affaires of Libya's Embassy in the Kingdom, Discusses Enhancing Cooperation in Combating Terrorism

Riyadh, Safar 07, 1448 AH, corresponding to July 21, 2026 AD, SPA -- The Secretary-General of the Islamic Military Alliance to Combat Terrorism, Major General Pilot Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Mogheedi, received today at the Alliance's headquarters in Riyadh, the Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the State of Libya in the Kingdom, Fateh Al-Bashir Bsheena, to discuss ways to enhance joint cooperation in the fields of counter-terrorism and capacity building, and to review the Alliance's key programs and initiatives aimed at supporting member states. During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the programs and initiatives implemented by the Alliance in its four areas: ideological, media, counter-terrorism financing, and military, as well as the results achieved in developing national competencies, enhancing coordination among member states, and establishing best international practices in confronting all forms of terrorism. The Secretary-General of the Islamic Alliance, Major General Pilot Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Mogheedi, affirmed that the Islamic Alliance continues to implement its qualitative programs aimed at building capacities and enhancing integration and cooperation among states, stemming from a firm conviction that confronting terrorism requires effective partnerships, exchange of expertise, and integration of efforts, contributing to the consolidation of security and stability at regional and international levels. For his part, Counselor Fateh Al-Bashir Bsheena, Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the State of Libya in the Kingdom, expressed his great appreciation for the significant efforts made by the Islamic Military Alliance to Combat Terrorism, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, commending its qualitative programs and initiatives that support member states and enhance their readiness in various fields of counter-terrorism. He pointed out that the State of Libya looks forward to benefiting from these initiatives, stressing that the current phase requires strengthening cooperation in capacity building and expertise exchange, given Libya's geographical and strategic importance in its regional surroundings, which makes cooperation with the Alliance an important pillar to support security and stability efforts and confront common challenges. At the conclusion of the meeting, the two sides emphasized the importance of continued coordination and expanding horizons of cooperation to serve common interests, contribute to enhancing member states' capabilities to confront terrorism and dry up its sources, based on an approach of effective partnership, unified efforts, and building an integrated system that enhances security and stability and supports the march of development and peace in the region and the world. // End // 14:10 T.M. 0108
