Hamas on Sunday accused Israel of inciting against it through claims about accelerating its military buildup, with the aim of 'justifying the ongoing aggression on the Gaza Strip.'
Movement spokesman Hazem Qassem said in a statement that 'the escalation of Zionist talk about Hamas accelerating its military buildup in personnel and weaponry is a clear incitement against the movement.'
He added that this incitement 'aims to justify its ongoing aggression on the strip, daily killings, and violation of the ceasefire agreement.'
On Friday, Hebrew media outlets, including Channel i24 News, quoted Israeli military assessments claiming that Hamas has about 27,000 fighters, thousands of rockets, explosive devices, and drones, and is reactivating tunnel networks.
