Hundreds of Israeli settlers stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem, in consecutive groups, and performed provocative tours in its courtyards under heavy protection from Israeli occupation forces, which imposed intensive military measures at the gates of the mosque and around the Old City, and prevented visitors and worshippers from entering.

The Palestinian Ministry of Awqaf confirmed in an official statement that this storming constitutes a blatant violation of the sanctity of Islamic holy sites and a serious infringement on the historical and legal status quo at the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

In a related context, Israeli occupation forces launched a widespread arrest campaign in the West Bank, targeting at least 24 Palestinians, during raids and searches that extended to various areas, concentrated in the cities of Jenin, Tulkarm, and Bethlehem.
